Festivities

In Vejer, as happens in many other parts of Spain, will be celebrated, for the tradition, the feast of San Juan on the night of 23 to 24 June with the name of the Candela of San Juan. It gives the welcome to summer and always passes in a fun environment and above all magical, enhanced by the presence of the fire.

A  very curious in Vejer De La Frontera, which also takes place in other parts of the province of Cádiz, is the burning of a few monigotes stuffed with straw or rags, Juan and Juana. Anyone who wants to participate in the burning of these characters, prepares the dolls at home and then leads them to the exhibition of the ferris wheel, where it is burning in the fireplace, receiving an award that best has made.

The Feast then continues in the Plaza de España, where it is released three bulls of fire and there is a verbena set to the music of a band. The toro de fuego is a metal frame, which, of course, by its name has the form of that animal, and on whose backbone are placed pyrotechnic components. What carries a person that runs behind the people to scare her with the sparks that releases the bull.

The feast, logically, continues until the early hours of  the morning, so that the people of Vejer and visitors can enjoy the welcome you in a friendly and festive summer, the new station.
